Three Ways To Use Natural CBD Flower For Pain Relief

If you are seeking natural pain relief, one option that is becoming widely popular is CBD. Derived from cannabis or hemp, CBD does not make you feel high, but it does have a lot of other helpful properties, one of which is pain relief. There are now strains of cannabis that produce only CBD, and no THC. If you'd like to use one of these products, here are some options.

1. Smoke It

You can actually smoke CBD flower just as someone would smoke standard cannabis. Buy some rolling papers, and roll some of the flower into a joint. Make sure you remove all of the stems and seeds from the flower and crumble it up into tiny pieces before rolling it. If you do not want to go through the hassle of rolling a joint, you can smoke the CBD out of a small pipe or bowl instead. Some like to use water pipes, as passing the smoke over water cools it down before it's inhaled.

Smoking is one of the simplest ways to enjoy CBD flower, but the smoke can be a little harsh on your throat, and some find the odor of the smoke unappealing.

2. Vaporize It

If you want the fast delivery of smoking without the sore throat, you can try vaporizing, or vaping, CBD flower. You will need a vaporizing device that takes whole flower, not one that uses oil isolates. Basically, you crumble the flower up, put it in the device, and inhale -- sometimes while holding own a certain button, depending on the device. The vaporizer heats the flower to the point at which CBD turns into a vapor, but does not burn. You'll inhale that vapor, which is much cooler and has less odor than smoke.

3. Eat It

Another option is to make your own edibles. To do so, you will first need to extract the CBD into an oil as it is not soluble in water. Crumble up about a gram of flowers into a quarter cup of coconut oil. Heat it over medium-low heat on the stove for about a half hour. Then, strain out the actual pieces of the flower. Use the coconut oil in whatever dishes you like, from cookies to toast.

It takes longer to notice an effect when you eat CBD as opposed to smoking or vaping it, but this is a good option for people who do not want to inhale anything.
